We are seeking a seasoned sales manager with strong business acumen, responsible for developing key growth sales strategies, tactics, and action plans to drive business success. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of consistently achieving or exceeding annual sales targets, implementing effective sales strategies, building valuable networks, and maintaining strong customer relationships. Additionally, they will have a deep understanding of customer trends and the ability to leverage this insight to drive business growth and identify new opportunities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Business Development:

  • Generate new leads to build a sales pipeline.
  • Network and attend events to pursue new business opportunities.
  • Research, identify and contact potential business opportunities.
  • Due to this being a collaborative environment, the incentive/bonus structure is fully team-based.
  • Develop and maintain an in-depth knowledge of the market, identify peaks, valleys and opportunities to increase sales and develop strategic action plans to ensure that a consistently high level of business is maintained at the Centre throughout the year.
  • Research yearly competitor rates.
  • With the sales team, create a strategic direction and action plan on how to mine the internal clients.

Sales & Account Management:

  • Receive sales inquiries and respond in a timely fashion.
  • Schedule on-site property tours and client lunches.
  • Develop relationships and accounts (new and existing) by mapping specific business and buying tendencies
  • Using relationship-building skills, contact, meet and greet, or regularly communicate with assigned accounts. Effectively discuss client satisfaction levels and probe for further business.
  • Prepare customized proposals and contracts. Follow up and monitor progress through the sales funnel from prospect to definite stages. Maintain professional and timely contact with the client.
  • Negotiate rates and upsell to maximize revenue. Maintain brand integrity by not jeopardizing rate, yet finding creative ways to close deals and create long-term client partnerships.
  • Revive dormant accounts to regain client loyalty.
  • Record sales activities in Opera, sales database system, use trace and follow up on new accounts and leads.
  • Attend sales meetings and other departmental meetings as deemed necessary.
  • Record expenses incurred on behalf of the company and submit a monthly expense account to the Director of Sales for approval.
  • Work in close partnership with Kingbridge Conference Event Planners and Operations to address any client changes or challenges. Follow up with any changes or challenges with the Kingbridge Conference Event Planning Managers.
  • Ensure frequent interaction with clients while on the property for their events. Attend pre- & post-conference client meetings.
  • Attend to any service recovery challenges.
  • To perform any other reasonable duties as requested by management.

Specifications and Qualifications

  • College/university degree/diploma preferred in Sales and or business administration.
  • 5+ years of sales experience in a full-service hotel, preferably a hotel that also offers a dedicated conference centre.
  • Demonstrable proficiency in sales account software system, Microsoft Office, Excel, and internet literacy.
  • Ability to write custom proposals and contracts.
  • Must have excellent interpersonal skills and organizational ability.
  • Successful proven track record in B2B sales and negotiations.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience in using a consultative sales approach.
  • Proficiency in data analysis.
  • Good interpersonal, decision-making, and time management skills.
  • Experience with CRM software, Salesforce, Opera-Hospitality Database System
  • Ability to effectively deliver presentations.
  • Personal grooming, punctuality and attendance.
  • Creativity in connecting with decision-makers.
  • The ability to build and foster strong relationships.
