We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Commissioning Manager to lead the commissioning phase of a Hydrogen Air Separation Plant (HASP). This role is critical to ensuring all plant systems and components are installed, tested, and operational according to design intent and industry standards. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in complex industrial plant commissioning, with specific experience in hydrogen or cryogenic air separation technologies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the entire commissioning process of the hydrogen air separation facility, from pre-commissioning to startup and handover.
- Develop and implement the commissioning plan, procedures, schedules, and checklists in line with project timelines and safety protocols.
- Coordinate with engineering, construction, operations, HSE, and third-party contractors to ensure smooth transition from construction to commissioning and operation.
- Oversee functional testing and performance verification of mechanical, electrical, process, and control systems.
- Supervise commissioning teams and ensure all commissioning activities are properly documented, logged, and reported.
- Manage and resolve any technical issues that arise during the commissioning phase.
- Ensure all safety procedures and risk assessments are adhered to, promoting a zero-incident culture.
- Lead FAT (Factory Acceptance Tests), SAT (Site Acceptance Tests), and ensure alignment with OEM/vendor specifications.
- Provide technical input for punch lists, pre-startup safety reviews (PSSR), and performance guarantees testing.
- Train plant operations and maintenance staff on new systems and processes during commissioning and handover.
- Support handover to operations team and ensure all documentation, drawings, and manuals are transferred and archived properly.
Essential skills and knowledge
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering (or equivalent).
- Minimum of 10-15 years of commissioning experience, with at least 3 years in hydrogen production, ASU, or related gas processing facilities.
- Strong understanding of cryogenic air separation, hydrogen purification, compression, and liquefaction technologies.
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to manage multi-disciplinary teams in high-pressure environments.
- Experience with DCS/PLC systems and familiarity with P&IDs, loop diagrams, and system control philosophies.
- Strong knowledge of international and local codes, safety standards, and environmental regulations.
- Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to work in remote or industrial site environments on a rotational or project-based schedule.
