Wiebe's Steel Structures is seeking an experienced Site Superintendent to oversee daily on-site operations for commercial/industrial building construction projects. The ideal candidate will act as the on-site representative for the company, ensuring projects are completed safely, on time, on budget, and in accordance with contract specifications and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain an on-site presence, conduct daily site meetings and safety talks, and liaise with project managers, clients, consultants, and inspectors.
- Supervise all on-site construction activities and ensure adherence to schedules and safety standards.
- Monitor progress and prepare daily reports on activities, delays, inspections, and materials.
- Enforce site safety rules and ensure compliance with all occupational health and safety regulations
- Ensure quality control and address deficiencies promptly
- Maintain up-to-date documentation including drawings, RFIs, change orders, and material deliveries
- Coordinate with the project manager via communication channels like email and project management software
- Oversee logistics of equipment, materials, and manpower
- Support project close-out procedures and final inspections
Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a Site Superintendent (experience with PEMBs an asset)
- Knowledge of construction methods, building codes, and safety regulations
- Demonstrable leadership and communication skills
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
- Proficiency with construction software and digital reporting tools; willingness and ability to learn and implement digital systems and workflows
- Valid driver's license and safety certifications (e.g., First Aid, Fall Protection, CSTS, WHMIS)
