The Opportunity: Senior Buyer

We are seeking an experienced and visionary Senior Ladies High-End Fashion Retail Buyer to join our dedicated team in Montreal, QC. This is a full-time, on-site role that offers a unique opportunity to shape the future of our product offerings and significantly contribute to our brand's continued success.

As a Senior Buyer, you will play a pivotal role in curating our collections, ensuring they resonate with our discerning clientele and uphold the Judith & Charles standard of excellence. You will leverage your extensive market knowledge and negotiation prowess to acquire exquisite pieces that align with our brand identity and strategic objectives.

Key Responsibilities

• Strategic Product Curation: Lead the identification, selection, and procurement of high-end fashion products that align with Judith & Charles' brand aesthetic, quality standards, and target demographic.
• Supplier Relationship Management: Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with existing and new suppliers, negotiating favorable terms, pricing, and delivery schedules to optimize profitability and product availability.
• Trend Forecasting & Market Analysis: Conduct in-depth analysis of global fashion trends, consumer behavior, and competitive landscapes to identify emerging opportunities and inform strategic buying decisions.
• Inventory Optimization: Develop and implement effective inventory management strategies to ensure optimal stock levels, minimize markdowns, and maximize sales performance.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate closely with our design team to conceptualize and develop cohesive product assortments. Work in tandem with merchandising, marketing, and sales teams to ensure a unified and impactful product launch and retail strategy.
• Financial Performance: Monitor and analyze sales data, profit margins, and key performance indicators (KPIs) to drive continuous improvement and achieve financial targets.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5+ years of progressive buying experience within the high-end fashion retail sector, specifically for ladies' apparel.
• Proven expertise in product selection, supplier negotiation, and comprehensive inventory management within a luxury or premium brand environment.
• In-depth knowledge of current and emerging consumer trends in the high-end fashion market, with a keen eye for quality, design, and market viability.
• Exceptional analytical and strategic decision-making skills, with the ability to translate data into actionable insights and profitable buying strategies.
• Superior communication, negotiation, and interpersonal abilities, capable of building strong relationships internally and externally.
• Meticulous attention to detail and strong organizational skills, with the capacity to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (advanced functions) and experience with enterprise-level inventory management and merchandising software.
• A passion for fashion and a deep understanding of the Judith & Charles brand ethos.
