Part-Time Fundraising & Events Lead (Contract)

Company: Operation Walk Canada

Recruiting Company: Hello Hired Inc

Location: Southwestern Ontario (Remote with travel to London, ON)

Compensation: $25,000-$35,000 annually (based on experience)

Start Date: ASAP

Type: Part-time Contract, approx. 1-3 days/week (flexible schedule)

About the Organization:

We are a grassroots medical mission charity based in London, Ontario, committed to

providing hip and knee replacement surgeries to underserved communities in developing

countries. Since 2006, we've delivered more than 1,500 life-changing operations to

patients who would otherwise have no access to care.

We're looking for a dynamic, experienced fundraising professional to help drive our next

chapter of impact-supporting everything from event planning to donor relations and

partnerships.

About the Role:

Reporting directly to a subcommittee of our Board of Directors, the Fundraising & Events

Lead will take the reins on all fundraising efforts, event coordination, and donor engagement

activities. You'll work hand-in-hand with passionate board members, the Communications

and Fundraising Committee and other volunteers-and be a key driver in helping us sustain

and grow our fundraising initiatives.

This is a contract position with a highly flexible schedule-perfect for someone who

thrives in independent, self-directed work and is looking for part-time work with a purpose.

While most of your work can be done remotely and on your own time, you'll be expected to

attend 5-6 board meetings per year and participate in 2-3 donor engagement sessions

per month, all held in London, Ontario. The majority of your efforts will focus on generating

fundraising revenue through events, partnerships, and relationship-building. Hours may vary

depending on the season, with more activity leading up to events and quieter periods during

summer and holidays.

What You'll Be Doing:

Lead fundraising initiatives: Plan and execute donor strategies, events, and

campaigns (e.g., concerts, "Sips for Hips" wine nights).

Write and submit grant applications and seek new funding opportunities.

Build and maintain donor relationships, including 1:1 meetings and stewardship

communications.

Support board initiatives: Attend 5-6 board meetings per year and work closely

with our Communications & Fundraising Committee.

Oversee donor database (CanadaHelps system) and report on donor trends and

engagement.

Collaborate on communications: Support social media and community awareness

campaigns.

️ Who You Are:

A confident, self-directed fundraising professional-comfortable wearing many hats.

Experienced in donor relations, special event coordination, and securing grants.

Comfortable working with boards and reporting on key fundraising activities.

Tech-savvy and social-media aware, with the ability to tell a compelling story.

Bonus: Experience with donor management platforms (such as CanadaHelps) or

Spanish language skills.

Why Join Us?

Make a real impact: Help bring critical surgeries to those who need them most.

Flexible remote work: Set your schedule around your life (approx. 2 days/week).

Support a passionate volunteer board with a clear strategic vision.

Support a mission you can be proud of.

Send your resume through Linkedin. We will begin reviewing applications immediately and

are looking to fill this position as soon as possible.
