Role Overview:
We are seeking a hands-on, technically experienced leader to join our Medical & Scientific team. In this role, you will oversee all product development testing and prototyping services-including mechanical and aerosol testing as well as rapid and traditional prototyping. You will be responsible for planning and resourcing, supervising technical staff, ensuring regulatory compliance, and driving continuous improvement in our lab capabilities.

Key Responsibilities:
Team & People Management
- Provide clear direction through defined goals and performance expectations
- Supervise day-to-day activities, manage scheduling and staffing needs
- Foster a fair, supportive, and inclusive work environment
- Support staff development through regular feedback, coaching, and performance reviews
- Address and resolve employee relations, performance, and disciplinary issues
Lab Operations & Technical Oversight
- Lead and improve testing and prototyping methodologies, equipment use, and lab operations
- Ensure testing adheres to current international and industry standards
- Optimize testing capabilities through experiment design and technique development
- Oversee on-time delivery of testing activities aligned with project timelines
- Maintain accurate, documented testing protocols and data analysis tools
- Ensure proper data recording and validation of critical measurements
Regulatory & Quality Compliance
- Ensure all testing and documentation meets applicable regulatory and legal requirements
- Maintain equipment and software validation in line with regulatory expectations
- Uphold quality standards throughout the testing and development process
Health & Safety Leadership
- Promote a strong culture of health and safety compliance
- Ensure all staff are trained and equipped to work safely
- Maintain lab facilities and equipment in safe, operational condition
- Enforce internal safety policies and relevant legal standards
Qualifications:
- Diploma or degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology or a related technical field
- Minimum 5 years of experience managing technical laboratory operations in a regulated environment
- Demonstrated experience supervising technical teams
- Hands-on knowledge of mechanical, airflow, aerosol, and chemical testing methods
- Familiarity with prototyping and manufacturing techniques such as machining, additive manufacturing, injection molding, and casting
- Solid understanding of the full product design and development lifecycle in regulated industries
