Position Overview
Our client, one of North America's largest home retailers is looking for a bright, enthusiastic, Space Planner to join their dynamic team.
Space Planner works closely with the Sr. Space Planner to design, build and maintain merchandise planograms (POGs). The Space Planner is responsible for ensuring that POGs accurately reflect assortment decisions and are consistent with category strategy, visual merchandising standards and planogram optimization targets.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Design and create planograms in JDA that maximize space efficiency, align with merchandising strategies, and meet safety and visual standards.
- Analyze planograms based on sales, profitability, and inventory to improve performance.
- Recommend improvements to optimize planograms for better customer experience, store operations, and financial results.
- Review planograms, discuss metrics, and address any deviations with Space Planning and Merchandising teams.
- Create store-specific planograms based on store layout, including bay count, dimensions, and fixtures.
- Prepare orders for steel/fixtures, if needed.
- Ensure planogram accuracy by checking against assortment listings and store data.
- Address any issues identified during pre-walks or execution in a timely manner, following defined SLAs.
- Contribute to special projects aimed at improving the team's processes.
- Using your organizational and analytical skills to strategically place products to maximize sales.
Whom We're Looking For:
- Over 2 years of relevant experience in the retail industry, including hands-on experience using JDA Space Planning Software to create planograms.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent diploma/degree, or a combination of related work experience and education.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining a high level of attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Proficient in Excel, with advanced skills in data manipulation.
- Experience with MS Access is considered an asset.
