About the role

re you a seasoned professional with a background in construction and estimate writing? Do you have a passion for mentoring and coaching others, and possess excellent interpersonal skills? We have an exciting opportunity for you to shape and define a brand-new role as a Property Appraisal Claims Consultant.

This role offers a fantastic opportunity for work-life balance, as well as the chance to collaborate with teams across Canada to align and enhance our processes.

What You'll Do:

Provide Expertise and Support: Use your technical knowledge to support major loss appraisers and property claims specialists, ensuring accuracy and excellence in claim estimates for damaged buildings.
Mentor and Coach: Share your expertise by designing, developing, and facilitating training initiatives. Help your colleagues grow and excel in their roles by providing guidance and support.
Quality Assurance: Conduct audits of claims estimates to ensure they meet company standards. Identify trends and help improve the quality of work performed by contractors and restorers.
Process Improvement: Participate in regional and national projects aimed at enhancing Claims processes. Work collaboratively to streamline standards and procedures across different regions.
Compliance and Standards: Ensure that claims standards and procedures comply with contracts & applicable legislation. Provide operational support during the activation of the CAT Plan.
Collaboration: Attend meetings and collaborate with key partners and stakeholders to drive improvements and achieve company goals.
Technical Resource: Act as a go-to expert for technical quality & complaint resolution. Assist in managing the appraisal process for both commercial and personal property losses.

What We're Looking For:

Educational Background: A background in construction, building appraisal, or a related field, or a combination of relevant education and experience.
Industry Insight: Comprehensive knowledge of property insurance, including both residential and commercial lines.
Experience: At least 5 years of hands-on experience with large loss appraisals in commercial and residential property claims, and a minimum of 5 years in managing substantial restoration or construction projects.
Technical Proficiency: Skilled in using estimation software like Xactimate and other industry-specific tools.
Communication Skills: Exceptional ability to research, write, and communicate complex information clearly and effectively.
Analytical Mindset: Strong analytical thinking to evaluate and improve processes.
Leadership Qualities: Proven ability to lead and facilitate meetings and projects, with a knack for mentoring and coaching others.
Organizational Skills: Highly organized with the ability to juggle multiple tasks and projects efficiently.
Flexibility: Open to travel as the role requires.
Language Skills: Bilingual in French and English is highly desirable.

Salary of the successful candidate will typically be positioned between the following range, taking into consideration a number of factors including prior experience, qualifications, anticipated contribution to role, location and internal equity:

$95,400.00 - $143,200.00
