Job role: SRE Business Systems Analyst

Job description:
"Core Responsibilities:
1. Requirements Gathering and Analysis
Collaborate with stakeholders (SREs, DevOps, infrastructure teams, product owners) to gather and document operational, performance, and reliability requirements.
Translate business needs into technical requirements for observability, incident response, and SLAs/SLIs/SLOs.
2. Process Improvement and Automation Support
Identify manual, repetitive SRE tasks (e.g., incident handling, alerting, post-mortems) and propose automation opportunities.
Document workflows for automation tools like Ansible, Jenkins, or custom scripts.
3. Business Systems Analyst
Define and track reliability metrics (uptime, MTTR, MTBF, error budgets).
Support the creation of dashboards, KPIs, and operational reports for leadership using tools like Grafana, Splunk, or Datadog.
4. Incident and Problem Management
Participate in incident review meetings; assist in documenting root causes, corrective actions, and long-term solutions.
Maintain and enhance knowledge bases and runbooks in coordination with the SREs.
5. Tool and System Integration
Work with SREs to evaluate and document integration of tools like PagerDuty, ServiceNow, Prometheus, and CI/CD platforms.
Assist in configuration management and tool lifecycle documentation.
6. Compliance and Risk Management
Ensure system reliability and performance requirements align with internal compliance, security, and risk guidelines.
Document evidence and processes for audits or availability-related governance checks.
7. Communication and Stakeholder Alignment
Serve as liaison between SRE team and other business units to ensure alignment of reliability goals with business expectations.
Prepare reports and presentations on system reliability trends, improvement efforts, and incident patterns.
8. Change and Release Coordination
Assist in impact assessments for changes affecting production systems.
Support change advisory board (CAB) processes with reliability data and risk analysis.
Desirable Skills for This Role:
Strong understanding of SRE concepts (SLI, SLO, error budgets)
Knowledge of monitoring/observability tools
Experience with Agile/Scrum processes
Basic understanding of infrastructure and cloud (AWS, GCP, or Azure)
Familiarity with incident management platforms and ITSM tools."
