Location: Toronto, Canada (Onsite presence required a few days per week)

Your new role

As a Data and AI Platform Engineer, you will be a key member of the cloud engineering team responsible for designing and building robust AWS infrastructure. You will collaborate closely with development teams to provision platform services supporting complex ETL/ELT pipelines and machine learning solutions. Your role involves architecting scalable, low-latency data systems, implementing disaster recovery, and promoting best practices in software development. You will also lead and mentor a talented team, contributing to their growth and the success of backend distributed systems.

What you'll need to succeed

• 7+ years of experience as a Cloud Infrastructure Engineer specializing in Data and Data Warehousing technologies
• 10+ years of relevant experience with a post-secondary degree or equivalent in a related field
• Strong expertise in Data Lake, Data Warehousing, Distributed Systems, and Data Infrastructure concepts
• Solid experience with ML infrastructure and ML DevOps
• Proven experience migrating data from on-premis Hadoop to AWS/Azure Cloud environments
• Deep understanding of core AWS and Azure services and architecture best practices
• Hands-on skills in database architecture, business intelligence, machine learning, advanced analytics, and big data
• Proficiency in building CI/CD pipelines for infrastructure and code deployment
• Excellent communication skills to provide consulting and technical support across teams
• Experience provisioning and architecting cloud services including:
• CDK & TypeScript, NodeJS, Python, Terraform
• CodePipeline, CI/CD, Build/Deploy tools
• AWS EMR, Glue, Managed Airflow, Lake Formation, Athena, S3, ELK/OpenSearch
• RDS, Redshift, DocumentDB, Neptune, Data Migration Service
• EC2, IAM, Secrets Manager, Systems Manager, CloudWatch
• AWS SageMaker Studio, Docker & Containers
• AWS QuickSight and Power BI (reporting tools)
• Azure Data and Data Warehousing services (a plus)
• Ability to work onsite in Toronto a few days per week
