New Value Solutions, a national IT consulting company, is seeking a highly experienced and motivated Senior QA Engineer for a contract position with one of our clients, supporting their innovation team. In this role, you will ensure quality assurance across complex software solutions, including those powered by AI technologies. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to build and maintain high-impact, high-quality products. Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and implement automated tests for software products and AI-based solutions.
  • Create comprehensive test plans, test cases, and automation suites using tools like Selenium or similar.
  • Collaborate with product managers, engineers, and data scientists to define quality standards and best practices.
  • Execute functional, exploratory, and user acceptance testing where automation is not viable.
  • Perform performance testing and analyze load behavior, recommending improvements.
  • Generate automation run reports to communicate progress and testing status.
  • Troubleshoot and document technical issues, ensuring traceability and historical tracking.
  • Engage in test planning activities including test strategy, data needs, test scenarios, and defect management.
  • Provide QA sign-off and validate production-ready deployments.
  • Champion continuous testing practices to accelerate delivery and ensure software quality.
  • Advocate for QA best practices and contribute to process improvements.
  • Participate in agile ceremonies and DevOps workflows in a highly integrated technical environment.

Requirements

  • Must be able to work on-site in Richmond, BC in a hybrid model.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or STEM discipline (or equivalent experience).
  • 7+ years of experience as an SDET or Senior QA Engineer.
  • Expertise in test automation and manual testing approaches.
  • Proficiency with Python, C#, .NET, SQL, and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Experience testing AI systems including aspects such as bias detection and model validation.
  • Skilled in API testing using Postman.
  • Hands-on experience with test automation tools like Selenium or similar.
  • Familiarity with SAFe or Agile methodologies.
  • Experience with Azure DevOps for pipeline and repo configurations.
  • Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Understanding of performance testing tools and techniques.
  • Familiarity with Git, Node, TypeScript, JavaScript, HTML/CSS, and JQuery is a plus.
