Our challenge

We are going through a very exciting phase of transformation in Margin and Collateral, OTC derivatives, Payments and Cash Management domains in Markets Technology uplifting our technology offering for our business as we aim to be the most competitive product offering on the street. In this role you will be required to participate in the complete spectrum of SDLC, closely working with business users, engineers, QA and support teams to create a technology product vision and roadmap and ensure its delivery on time and to budget.

As part of our global technology team, you will be working with a group of passionate product owners and engineers who work on building simple and effective solutions to solve complex business problems.

A Java Spark developer is responsible for creating, supporting, and maintaining efficient, reusable, and reliable Java code within the Apache Spark ecosystem. They work with various aspects of Spark, including Spark SQL, Dataframes, Datasets, and streaming, to develop and optimize big data applications. The role requires strong programming skills in Java (as well as Scala or Python), familiarity with big data processing tools and techniques, and an understanding of distributed systems and the Hadoop ecosystem. The developer collaborates with data engineering teams to ensure high performance and data quality

Additional Information

The base salary for this position will vary based on geography and other factors.

In accordance with law, the base salary for this role if filled within Mississauga, ON is CAD 110K - CAD 120K/year benefits (see below).

The Role

Responsibilities:

  • Proven experience as a Spark Developer or a related role
  • Strong programming skills in Java, Scala, or Python
  • Familiarity with big data processing tools and techniques
  • Experience with the Hadoop ecosystem
  • Good understanding of distributed systems
  • Experience with streaming data platforms
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills-

Requirements:

  • Skill Set: Java and Spark
  • Experience in designing and developing solutions using Core Java (Java/J2EE/Spring)
  • Experience with Web Services, Web Services Security, REST, SOAP
  • Experience with Hadoop, Spark, Micro-Services, Apache-BEAM
  • At least 2 years of Cloud development experience using Azure
  • Experience on Java and Cloud Technology with overall cloud Architecture understanding
  • Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipeline Jenkins/Docker/OpenShift deployment
  • Strong working experience in Database
