Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:30 am to 5:00 pm.

Stone Tile International Inc. is looking for a Project, Procurement & Pricing Consultant. Celebrating our 30th anniversary in 2022, we are North America's leading fashion house of natural and manufactured tiles, stone, and wood. With over 160 employees and showrooms across major Canadian cities such as Toronto, Montreal, Vancouver, and Calgary, we are seeking to improve our international reputation as a luxury design firm for the architects and designers' community as well as discerning residential customers to redefine their spaces to transcend the ordinary.

The Project, Procurement & Pricing Consultant plays a vital role in the successful execution of stone-related projects, overseeing the flow of materials and coordination from the pricing phase through to project completion. This position works cross-functionally with the sales, project management, and procurement teams to ensure materials are sourced efficiently, priced accurately, and delivered on time. The ideal candidate brings strong technical knowledge of stone products, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to balance detail-oriented work with fast-paced project timelines.

Key Responsibilities:

Purchasing

  • Source and purchase stone slabs, tiles, and accessories from local and international suppliers, working alongside the Stone Slab Buyer/Manager
  • Evaluate suppliers for cost, quality, reliability, and lead times.
  • Maintain vendor relationships and stay informed on market trends and material availability.
  • Track inventory levels; work closely with the Replenishment Analyst to manage stock and forecast demand.
  • Ensure that all purchased materials meet required quality and specification standards.
  • Negotiate terms and pricing to support margin targets and project success.
  • Organize control samples and coordinate materials based on project needs.

Project Coordination

  • Coordinate projects from initial pricing through to final delivery and installation.
  • Monitor timelines and deliverables in collaboration with Project Managers and Replenishment Analysts.
  • Serve as the central point of contact between sales, fabrication, and installation teams.
  • Maintain accurate documentation, schedules, and internal communications related to each project.
  • Ensure timely delivery of materials to production or job sites.
  • Understand and support various residential and commercial project types, including Slabs, tile, and cut-to-size
  • Assist with stone block and slab photos, sample approvals, and logistics management for client-specific projects.

Pricing

  • Manage pricing and sourcing requests for all natural stone and quartz materials.
  • Update and maintain pricing for both stock and custom materials.
  • Collaborate with the pricing department on mass uploads and pricing updates in internal systems.
  • Prepare cost estimates for projects, ensuring competitive and accurate pricing aligned with client budgets.

Sourcing & Product Development

  • Identify and qualify multiple vendors and material options for both standard and custom product needs.
  • Work with buyers on new product development and value engineering to meet customer budget constraints.
  • Attend trade shows, factories and quarry inspections to support supplier evaluation and purchasing with the Buyer.
  • May need to conduct on-site quality inspections to confirm material compliance with project specifications.

Sales Support

  • Provide technical support to Sales Representatives on material selection and installation guidance.
  • Offer insights on product suitability based on interior/exterior use, climate exposure, and application type.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of stone characteristics and fabrication/installation practices.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in purchasing, project coordination or technical sales support in the Stone & Tile Industry.
  • Strong knowledge of natural and engineered stone, including slab and tile formats, fabrication methods, and installation requirements.
  • Excellent time management and communication skills.
  • Experience with procurement and inventory software; ERP familiarity preferred, moderate Microsoft Excell skills.
  • Ability to read architectural drawings and technical specifications.
  • Willingness to travel to suppliers, trade shows, and job sites as needed.

Preferred:

  • Experience coordinating slab, tile and cut-to-size projects.
  • Bilingual (English/French/or other) is a plus.
  • Background in design or construction management is an asset.
