Introduction

We are seeking an experienced Engineering Lab Technician to support research and development activities and existing product maintenance. The ideal candidate will work closely with engineering teams to prototype, test, and validate new designs while providing technical support for established products.

Responsibilities

  • Build and modify prototype electronic systems and assemblies.
  • Assist engineers in testing and validating new product designs.
  • Develop and execute test procedures for R&D projects.
  • Troubleshoot and debug complex electronic systems.
  • Document test results, experimental procedures, and technical specifications.
  • Maintain lab equipment and calibration records.
  • Support existing products through failure analysis and repair.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams on product development.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree in Electronics Technology or related field.
  • 5+ years experience in electronics with emphasis on R&D environment.
  • Strong knowledge of test equipment (oscilloscopes, signal generators, spectrum analyzers).
  • Experience with prototyping and breadboarding techniques.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering schematics and drawings.
  • Knowledge of various communication protocols (I2C, SPI, UART, etc.).
  • Experience with soldering and rework of through-hole and SMD components.
  • Familiarity with lab safety procedures and ESD protocols.
  • Experience with PCB design and layout software.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent documentation and communication abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
  • Adaptable to changing priorities and deadlines.
  • Manual dexterity for precise electronic work.
  • Ability to lift 40 pounds.
  • Close visual work with small components.
