Job Title: Technical Project Manager
Location: Vancouver
Contract Length: 6 months w/ extensions
Day to Day:
The TPM would be on a team comprised of highly skilled Cloud Engineers & Cloud Architect which align to help monitor and support the company's cloud (AWS/Azure). As a member of this team, the Technical Program Manager will act as a engineering advocate during critical Go-Live milestones and all related activities. The TPM will be a primary point of contact for both internal and external teams, driving cohesiveness between support, delivery, and acceptance. To be effective, the TPM will work closely with a variety of internal stakeholders to prioritize work and drive on-time cloud solution delivery/service/support, including identifying and resolving risks and dependencies.
Responsibilities:
- Manage a pipeline of widely varying projects related to customer go-live events on Cloud Infrastructure such as network, storage, services et al
- Establish process, governance and working agreements to enable India North America collaboration
- Establish scrum/ processes to drive delivery and efficiencies for the team
- Work with stakeholders in identifying and preparing scope of work for the team
- Plan (effort, task, resources) with respective tower TPMs, track and report project status
- Good tech stack and system design knowledge on the relevant areas
- Should be responsible to own and remove impediments
- Liaise with Managed Services Partners for L1/L2 Support, Cloud Engineering, Product Development to facilitate progress, resolution, consistency of approach to resolve customer's issues during go-live events.
- Defining, document, and implementing best practice processes for project management.
- Help customers understand best practices around advanced cloud-based solutions.
- Be a part of the project team with diverse skills and working styles.
- Manage, control, prioritize, provide latest status, and visibility to stakeholders responsible.
- Identify and utilize necessary tools to support new and evolving processes.
- Manage relationships throughout the customer organization including all project team members, business contributors and stakeholders, and executive management.
- Establish trusted relationships with customers and prospects and understand their objectives. Solicit and provide product feedback from customers and prospects.
Must-Haves
- 7+ years' experience in Technical Project Management engaging with industry senior leaders (Tech Mgrs & Director level) on cloud strategy and adoption.
- Expert in analyzing stakeholder requirements, deciphering blockers, and facilitating smooth navigation in complex technical scenarios.
- Self-starter; works and solves problems independently; extremely well organized.
- Enjoys problem solving; formulates key relevant questions, gathers necessary info.
- Experience managing Cloud migration / transformation projects is critical.
- Broad background in Digital Transformation projects and initiatives.
- Experience in developing and managing customer relationships.
- Good understanding of Public Cloud Architecture and cloud pricing / economic models.
- BS / MS in a technical discipline.
- AWS/Azure/OCI Cloud Infrastructure (or any competitive Cloud) Certifications are mandatory.
- Professional certification(s) related to Technical Program Management is highly desirable.
