Job Overview:
The Electrical Foreman plays a critical role in the company's success by ensuring projects are completed efficiently, safely, and to the highest quality standards. This position directly impacts financial outcomes by maximizing profitability on projects and creating an atmosphere of mentorship, growth, and support for electricians on-site. Working closely with the project manager and site teams, you'll be responsible for developing effective systems, fostering relationships with clients and contractors, and maintaining a positive work environment.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Mentor electricians on-site to promote skill development and team morale.
- Review and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
- Provide guidance and clarification to electricians regarding project specifications.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with general contractors, site superintendents, and project managers.
- Liaise regularly with the project manager to ensure all project details are communicated and executed correctly.
- Plan workflow and establish priorities using effective scheduling and "game planning."
- Identify, communicate, and manage change orders or site extras.
- Oversee material orders, tool rentals, and ensure supplies are on-site when needed.
- Conduct inspections and coordinate walkthroughs with site inspectors.
- Troubleshoot technical issues and answer queries from colleagues.
- Ensure site organization, including setup of the site office and lockups.
- Document job progress with photos and updates in project-specific communication channels.
- Ensure all site staff comply with safety standards and identify training needs.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Dedicated to quality workmanship and professional service.
- Strong leadership, interpersonal, and team management skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with Procore is an asset.
- Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and organized with the ability to think creatively.
- Knowledge of current electrical codes, standards, and regulations.
- Physical ability to lift 50+ pounds and perform tasks requiring frequent bending, stooping, and standing.
Qualifications:
- Red Seal Electrician certification with 3+ years of supervisory experience.
- FSR A or B certification is a bonus.
Compensation and Benefits:
- Competitive starting hourly wage: $55-$60, around $125k per annum.
- Car Allowance ($800 per month, just under 10k per annum) OR company car, cell phone, and laptop.
- Job locations will include North Vancouver, Fraser Mills, West Vancouver and Oakridge
- Yearly bonus based on a profit-sharing structure.
