Job Title: Health and Safety Consultancy Manager
The Health and Safety Consultancy Manager plays a pivotal leadership role in overseeing the delivery, performance, and continuous improvement of our Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) consultancy services. This role is responsible for guiding a team of professionals, driving strategic initiatives, ensuring service excellence, and fostering cross-functional collaboration to meet organizational and client goals.
Office based in Downtown Toronto, off of King station when not on the field.
Key Responsibilities:
Operational Leadership
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the health and safety consultancy team to ensure delivery against SLAs and quality standards.
- Leverage data insights to drive operational efficiency, identify trends, and proactively address service challenges.
- Ensure all consultancy services meet legal compliance requirements and align with best practices across Canadian jurisdictions.
- Develop and implement quality control measures, including service metrics and audit mechanisms, to uphold exceptional service standards.
- Align new project initiatives with strategic priorities and ensure timely and effective execution.
- Collaborate across departments-including IT, Sales, Marketing, Finance, and Customer Experience-to ensure integration and alignment of OHS services with broader business objectives.
- Identify market trends, emerging needs, and opportunities for service enhancement or expansion.
Team & People Management
- Provide leadership, coaching, and support to a high-performing team of health and safety professionals.
- Manage recruitment, onboarding, performance reviews, and professional development processes for the OHS team.
- Foster a culture of engagement, accountability, and continuous learning within the team.
Client Consulting & Field Support
- Offer expert-level consulting services to key clients, including workplace assessments, compliance evaluations, and tailored safety plans.
- Conduct comprehensive audits and provide strategic guidance based on current legislation and best practices.
- Educate clients on legal obligations under Occupational Health and Safety regulations and support implementation of corrective actions.
- Recommend practical, customized solutions to close safety gaps and improve risk management.
- Deliver in-person or virtual training sessions for client teams on key safety practices and tools.
- Promote the effective use of safety management platforms and digital tools.
Strategic Problem Solving
- Analyze complex client and operational challenges using data, legislation, and industry intelligence to develop sustainable solutions.
- Communicate and implement strategic initiatives in alignment with organizational needs and stakeholder priorities.
Thought Leadership & Brand Representation
- Act as a public-facing health and safety expert by participating in webinars, panels, and media opportunities.
- Represent the organization's capabilities and commitment to safety excellence across various external platforms.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Diploma or degree in Occupational Health and Safety or a related field from an accredited institution.
- CRSP designation required
- Minimum 5 years' experience in health and safety, preferably across multiple industry sectors.
- Proven leadership experience in managing multidisciplinary teams and operational performance.
- Strong customer service orientation with a commitment to delivering high-value client outcomes.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Proficient in digital tools and health and safety software platforms.
- Strong organizational, time management, and analytical skills.
