Get expert coaching, a wide-open territory and the chance to shape your own career path.

We're looking for an experienced recruiter to join a technical staffing agency in its new downtown Calgary branch.

You'll receive one-on-one training from an experienced manager to help you settle in. This is a new branch within an established firm so there's plenty of untapped potential for you to capture. As you get up and running, your role will evolve to match your strengths and long-term goals. With the business already off to a strong start, you'll have good-quality orders to work on right away.

You'll have the freedom to choose how you'll build your own desk in the long-run. Whether you thrive as a specialist recruiter or you'd like to pick up your own clients, there's space for you to make your mark.

You'll have the autonomy to work your way. No micromanagement, no pointless activity targets and minimal admin holding you back. You'll be supported by a manager with decades of experience coaching salespeople and recruiters, so you'll get the help you need without busywork that doesn't increase your income.

What you'll be doing

You'll help a Vancouver-based IT staffing business expand into the national technology, engineering, and construction recruiting industries. That means recruiting full-time employees and contractors for permanent and project-based roles in those sectors.

You'll step straight into some warm client relationships and work directly with hiring managers on live searches brought in by the regional manager. As you get comfortable, the mix of recruiting, account management, or even sales in your day-to-day role will change to match your professional strengths and career goals.

This role is based in the downtown Calgary office three days a week.

What you'll need

  • Recent client- and candidate-facing experience in a staffing & recruiting agency
  • A couple of years of experience recruiting technical professionals, either in permanent or contract roles
  • A solid network and working knowledge of the Alberta and broader national construction, engineering, or technology staffing markets
  • Some account management or sales experience within a staffing & recruiting agency would be helpful
  • You must be independently legally-authorized to work in Canada

About the company

Our client is a small, owner-operated technical recruitment agency based in Western Canada. They've just opened their second Alberta office and have been steadily growing for around a decade. They've got a strong technology staffing brand and they've recently started to expand into new sectors.

This role offers a base salary plus commission plan (OTE:CA$80,000-CA$120,000) and a comprehensive benefits package. You'll have access to a employer-paid travel & expense account to help you get in front of clients and candidates, too.
