motionball is a national non-profit that empowers young Canadians to be leaders in their
communities, raising funds and awareness for Special Olympics Canada Foundation through
integrated social and sporting events. Our purpose is to create a sustainable funding model and
base of supporters for the Special Olympics movement. At the same time, we're providing more
people with the tools to pursue their passions and make a difference in their own communities, and putting the fun back into giving. motionball now proudly hosts 50+ annual events in 19 Canadian cities and 26 university campuses.

POSITION SUMMARY:
motionball is seeking a Marketing Coordinator to join our National Office team based in Toronto,
Ontario. Reporting to the Associate Director, National Events and working closely alongside the
National Office team, the individual in this role will be responsible for developing materials that
promote and deliver motionball messaging to stakeholders and the public and supporting the
organization's portfolio of events and campaigns.
This position is a one-year contract with the opportunity to renew into a permanent role.
HOW YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE:
85% - Marketing & Social Media
Oversee and coordinate digital media strategies, including social media, websites, and email
marketing for all motionball properties (Galas, Marathon of Sport, motionballU
and others)
Monitor and report on website, email, and social media responses
Provide support for motionball fundraising and awareness campaigns, including the annual
anti-bullying campaign
Manage the auditing and updating of the motionball website on a regular basis
Create and design promotional/marketing materials and toolkits
Create and update social media content schedules and templates for volunteer Committees
alongside the organizations agency partner
Support for motionball Chapters with their local social media initiatives where
applicable
Support motionball Chapters with local earned media opportunities with guidance from the
organizations agency partners
Collaborate with staff and volunteers to collect content from all of motionball's event
properties
Create and order all on-site and digital event signage
15% - Event Support
Provide on-site and pre-event support at motionball Toronto Signature events: Gala,
Marathon of Sport, Fall Classic, Pickleball, All In Poker Tournament and others
Assist in the execution of the Annual General Meeting
Support motionball Marathon of Sport events across Canada as an onsite contact of 3-4
Marathon of Sport events (travel within Canada may be required)
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
A College or University degree in Marketing, Communications, PR, or a related field
Relevant experience in a similar role in a non-profit or marketing setting
Experience with Google Advertising and digital media outlets
Ability to think creatively and outside of the box to elevate brand awareness
Strong relationship building and communications skills with a drive to win as a team
Experience with social media content creation and account management
Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, Wordpress, Canva, and HTML are assets
Must be able to multitask to support multiple projects simultaneously
Willingness to travel to Canadian cities and work evenings and weekends, as projects and
events demand it.
Bilingualism (English and French) is an asset.
This position is a hybrid model with all staff in office twice a week and working from home for the remaining 3 days. This is subject to change throughout the year based on the event season.
