We are seeking a highly organized and proactive Resource Manager to support internal resource planning and staffing for that start of a large, enterprise-wide SAP S/4HANA project, where all enterprise wide SAP modules will be moving to SAP S4/HANA. This is a pivotal role responsible for coordinating, managing, and executing the resource planning and staffing strategy for the mobilization of a large number of full-time internal staff to support this critical initiative,
The ideal candidate will possess strong skills in workforce planning in a unionized environment, stakeholder engagement, and cross-functional coordination, and will be comfortable operating in a complex enterprise environment. They will also possess a deep understanding of the project roles (Business, Organizational Change and Technical) required for a project of this type.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Development of the Project Resourcing Strategy Collaborate with program leadership to design a resourcing approach aligned with program goals, timelines, and budget.
- Create and Maintain a Detailed Resource and Workforce Plan Develop and manage a comprehensive resource plan for the core release, including timelines, skill requirements, and sourcing strategies.
- Engage with Key Stakeholders to Define Resource Needs Partner with PMO, Business Leads, Technical Leads, and OCM to validate role requirements and flush out detailed staffing needs.
- Coordinate Internal Resource Identification and Allocation Work with departmental leaders to identify and plan for internal resource movements into the project, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations.
- Draft Job Descriptions for External Roles Author clear and accurate role descriptions for all external SAP S/4HANA-related positions needed for recruitment.
- Support Staffing and Recruiting Activities Collaborate with HR, OCM, business unit leads, and Digital Technology Services (DTS) to facilitate recruitment, onboarding, and ongoing resource management.
Qualifications & Experience
- 5+ years experience in resource or workforce planning, preferably in large-scale IT or ERP transformation programs
- Familiarity with SAP environments, particularly ECC and S/4HANA transitions
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Proven experience working with cross-functional teams in a matrixed organization
- Ability to manage competing priorities in a dynamic and fast-paced environment
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and documentation skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with enterprise-wide SAP implementations or upgrades
- Background in HR, PMO, or organizational change management
- Experience with project resource management tools (e.g., MS Project, Smartsheet, or similar)
This is a hybrid role, requiring the contractor to be on site at least 2 days per week at the downtown Toronto office.
