We're hiring a Junior Digital Marketing Specialist for an Edmonton-based client. This is a contract opportunity running from July 2025 through March 2026, with the potential to transition into a full-time role. The position follows a hybrid work arrangement, requiring 3 days onsite in Edmonton each week.
You'll work with a collaborative, supportive, and fun communications team to plan, create, and manage content across multiple platforms. If you're a strong digital communicator with a passion for social media and storytelling, this could be your next great opportunity!
Key Responsibilities:
Social Media & Content Planning (45%)
- Plan, schedule, and post organic content across 15+ social media accounts, using Meltwater to manage publishing.
- Monitor engagement: reply to comments, DMs, and questions with appropriate tone and professionalism.
- Attend third-party events, hospital tours, or fundraisers and post live content when needed.
Campaign Support & Paid Ads (35%)
- Support seasonal campaigns including setting up and launching paid ads.
- Assist in monitoring campaign performance and optimizing based on results while staying within budget.
- Collaborate with the broader comms/content team and fund development team to align messaging and delivery.
- Use Klear to help manage influencer partnerships and content ideas when needed.
Content Optimization & SEO (15%)
- Implement basic SEO practices across digital content to improve discoverability.
- Update and refresh content for the web (through platforms like WebGuide), ensuring it reflects current campaigns.
- Contribute ideas to content squads to ensure messages stay fresh, timely, and on-brand.
Content Quality & Collaboration (5%)
- Write, proofread, and adapt content for different platforms, from long-form to bite-sized ad copy.
- Work closely with team members in events, stewardship, and video to bring integrated campaigns to life.
- Jump in to help wherever needed, whether it's a blog, Instagram Reel, or a last-minute post for an event.
Qualifications:
- 1-2 years of experience in digital marketing, social media management, or content creation
- Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills with attention to detail
- Familiarity with social media tools (e.g., Meltwater, Klear) and scheduling best practices
- Basic understanding of SEO and digital content strategy
- Comfortable creating content in different tones (educational, promotional, emotional, etc.)
- Ability to attend and post live from events when needed
Bonus: Experience working with non-profits, healthcare, or fundraising is a plus
