Position Summary:

The Consumer Marketing Insights Manager will be in charge of providing comprehensive consumer insights and actionable recommendations to unlock business opportunities for Recochem and its customers & agency partners. She/He will work in close collaboration with cross-functional teams such as marketing, sales and R&D team to drive meaningful insights and position Recochem as a thought leader across its categories in the US and Canada. She/He will be reporting into the SVP Marketing. This individual will focus on key categories such as Automotive and Household across B2C and B2B and Powerbrands like Prestone, Rain-X, OEM, HD Expert, Solvable, Winterproof and Adam's Polishes

This role will manage external research agencies and insights partners to answer key business issues and unlock growth opportunities. She/He will suggest market research methodologies, design brief, guides and questionnaires, and analyze consumer data to provide actionable recommendations based on the research results. This person will be responsible to craft meaningful stories to generate business opportunities for Recochem during line customer line reviews.

This position will be expected to integrate information from multiple sources (internal & external, ad hoc & syndicated) to provide larger perspective on recommendations and will require fluency across qualitative and quantitative methods.

This role will also be in charge of analyzing POS and Household panel data to identify growth opportunities for our retailers and might require to run space analysis by planograms to evaluate the productivity of our walls. This person will have to master Circana database.

This position will be expected to prepare and present unbiased, action-oriented recommendations from the research to many levels within the organization and to retailers and agencies.

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver weekly and monthly POS reports and actionable insights based on Circana database and Kruncbox POS reports.
  • Manage third-party research suppliers to design and execute custom research studies, including both qualitative (e.g. focus groups, 1:1 interview, ethnographies) and quantitative (e.g. Omnibus, Innovation screeners ) research methods.
  • Develop actionable recommendations for Marketing and cross functional teams and present them in a clear, concise manner with size of prize.
  • Leverage multiple data sources (including existing custom research, industry trend reports, etc.) to answer ad-hoc questions that Marketing and cross-functionals have about the consumer.
  • Seek out new research methods and suppliers to develop stronger insights more efficiently.
  • Manage the yearly Brand Health Study and research budget.

Knowledge, skills and abilities:

  • Proficient in various qualitative and quantitative research tools (e.g. Circana/Nielsen POS report, Homescan and Market Track, KantarAngus Reid brand health tracker, consumer segmentation, perceptual mapping, focus groups, omnibus, ethnographies, ).
  • Proficient in traditional research techniques used to support marketing teams, including, but not limited to product testing, concept testing, volumetric forecasting, copy testing, in-market tracking, market mix modeling, package testing, claims testing, segmentation studies, usage & attitudes (U&A) studies.
  • Strong ability to work with other teams.
  • Strong presentation skills (both in terms of delivering and creating presentations in ppt)
  • Effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.
  • Operational excellence - project management and budgeting.
  • Strong excel and power-point skills.
  • Pro-space for planograms (nice-to-have).
  • Fluent in English and French

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree required in Business, Marketing, Statistics, Mathematics.

Experience:

  • Minimum 10 years in market research.
  • CPG experience - either client or supplier side preferred.
