This is an hourly contract role with an expected hour allotment of 10 hours / week.

Strategic Purpose

Lead, nurture, and energize our Discord community of music producers, beatmakers, and audio creatives. We're seeking a creative, tech-savvy, and musically passionate individual who can spark conversations, design engaging campaigns, and cultivate a thriving online space for beatmakers and producers at all levels.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Oversee and implement a range of Community Moderator duties tailored to music production and beat making.
• Set up and manage Discord bots (e.g., for beat battles, sample sharing, feedback sessions), channels (e.g., genre-specific rooms, collaboration hubs), and infrastructure to support a vibrant music production community.
• Respond to questions about music production tools, software, beat-making techniques, and community guidelines in a clear, concise, and engaging voice.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to Discord, music production challenges, or community disputes.
• Engage members through questions, polls, music news, beat battles, remix contests, listening parties, and other interactive events.
• Foster a supportive environment for sharing tracks, samples, feedback, and production tips.
• Build and manage ambassador programs to highlight top contributors, host community showcases, and incentivize participation.
• Amplify social media campaigns (Twitter, Instagram, TikTok) within Discord, encouraging members to share their work and participate in cross-platform challenges.
• Collaborate with the social media team to drive traffic and new members to Discord through strategic partnerships with music brands, platforms, and influencers.
• Conduct community outreach and partnership efforts with other music production Discords, YouTube channels, and online music communities.
• Research and stay current on music production trends, DAWs, plugins, hardware, and the broader beat making scene to inform community content and campaigns.
• Interface with internal teams on messaging, content, and marketing campaigns tailored to music producers and beatmakers.
• Strategize with marketing and social media teams to enhance community satisfaction and engagement, ensuring our Discord is the go-to hub for music producers.

Required Education/Experience:

• 3+ years experience moderating online chat rooms or communities, ideally in music production or creative spaces.
• 3+ years customer service experience, preferably in an online or creative capacity.
• Demonstrated experience in music production, beat making, or a related creative field (professional or personal).
• Prior experience with Discord community management is highly preferred.

• Toronto, Canada: $15-$18 an hour contract
• Mexico City, Mexico: $10-$15 an hour contract
