Your New Role
We are seeking a TSYS Technical Lead - Canadian Banking to join a dynamic team based in Toronto (BMO Place) with a hybrid work model (2 days on-site, remote otherwise). You will lead the design, development, and support of mission-critical credit card processing systems and enterprise-grade web applications. You will be responsible for driving technical delivery, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and ensuring alignment with business goals and regulatory standards.
What You'll Need to Succeed
- TSYS Mainframe Expertise: Strong hands-on experience with TSYS mainframe systems (TS2) including COBOL, CICS, DB2; ability to analyze and support credit card platform functionality.
- Web Application Development: Proven leadership in Java or similar web application development; solid understanding of enterprise application architecture and deployment.
- MQ Messaging: Expertise in IBM MQ for message-driven integration, troubleshooting, and optimization.
- RESTful API Services: Skilled in designing and developing secure, scalable REST APIs with knowledge of API gateway patterns, authentication, and rate limiting.
- Canadian Banking Domain Knowledge: Deep understanding of Canadian banking systems, regulatory requirements, and digital banking or credit card issuing platforms.
- Leadership & Delivery: Experience leading technical teams, translating business needs into technical solutions, and working within agile and DevOps environments.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills; adept at managing senior stakeholders and technical risks.
Nice to Have
- Experience with TS2 platform implementation, customization, or migration.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and mainframe modernization/microservices migration.
- Exposure to CI/CD tools such as Jenkins or GitHub Actions and automated testing frameworks.
- Knowledge of PCI-DSS, secure coding practices, and compliance in Canadian financial institutions.
- Skills in performance profiling and optimization for mainframe and web applications.
