Responsibilities:
- Assisting the Executive Director with developing and implementing a comprehensive communications strategy
- Serving as content lead on all materials, including article development (copywriting and editing), press releases, media coverage (print, radio, TV, web, and podcasts), social media posts, email blasts, and printed materials
- Assisting in the coordination of annual conferences, including promotion of the event
- Updating of the association's website and social media channels
- Tracking progress and developing reports as needed
Qualifications:
- A diploma in creative communications
- Previous experience in creating and coordinating public-facing print and digital communications platforms and driving social media
- Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills with a high level of creativity
- High attention to detail with strong proofreading and editing skills
- Experience with Canva, InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, and MailChimp
- Previous experience in a non-profit setting is an asset
- Previous experience or interest related to agriculture or environmental sustainability is also an asset
Please note this is a full-time permanent in-office role. Hours of work are Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 4:30pm. A valid driver's license is required to be able to attend events as needed.
