The Gaming Technician is responsible for providing customer and technical service for all Video Lotto and Lottery Retailer site holders in the province of Manitoba. Duties include installation, removal, and servicing of gaming equipment within the province.

Please note that This position is based out of the Westman part of Manitoba. If applicants do not currently reside in Westman, relocation is mandatory to an agreed upon location between MBLL and the successful candidate.

Responsibilities

  • Liaise with Site holder or representative regarding required repairs.
  • Diagnose problems on VLTs, Lottery Ticket terminals, and related peripheral equipment.
  • Repair gaming equipment, label faulty parts and return damaged or defective inventory.
  • Complete work order documentation and forward copies as required.
  • Perform maintenance on VLT and WCLC terminals in assigned territories.
  • Track inventory usage and reorder parts to maintain proper inventory levels in the service Van.
  • Complete assigned projects as required (VLT replacement, software upgrades, etc)
  • Provide basic training to Site holder regarding equipment maintenance (changing printer paper, how to clean equipment, etc.)
  • Service VLTs and collect data in collaboration with Technical Integrity when incidents occur.
  • Maintain van, including scheduling repairs and regular maintenance.
  • Drive or fly to various sites throughout Manitoba to perform VLT or Terminal repairs.
  • Perform installations, removals and equipment moves, dependent on Site holder requirements. Review site plan to ensure everything is in place.
  • Ensure equipment is in proper working order prior to leaving the site.
  • Ensure all Manitoba Liquor & Lotteries property is removed and accounted for during the removal process.
  • Install or pull cable as required, throughout the premises, to connect the gaming equipment to the central system.
  • Complete all required documentation related to the service.
  • Support and comply with policies, procedures, practices and Corporate Social Responsibility commitments.
  • Complete required courses and video training.
  • Complete/assist with special projects and assignments as required.
  • Other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Possession of a certificate/diploma in electronics.
  • A minimum of one year previous technical experience in diagnosing electronic equipment with the use of the digital multimeter (DMM).
  • Province of Manitoba Class "I" electrical license is required.
  • Excellent customer service skills and verbal communication skills.
  • Have and maintain a valid Manitoba Class 5 Drivers License.
  • Basic skills in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook).
  • WCLC Lottery Terminal training is required, and provided on the job.
  • Upgrading is required to keep up to date on new technology and changes in the gaming environment.
  • A certificate in Networking would be an asset.

  • Ability to work a variety of shifts based on the requirements of a twenty-four (24) hour per day, seven (7) day per week operation.

Secondary Qualifications

  • Bilingual (French/English) language skills.
  • Previous experience in the gaming environment and knowledge of gaming system platforms.
