Role: Lead Business System Analyst
Location: Toronto
Responsibilities:
- Liaising with Actuarial Pricing to gather business requirements.
- Analyzing, planning, and delivering rate changes, considering priority, complexity, dependencies, and other impacts.
- Collaborating with the Release Train Engineer and Business Systems Analysts to ensure a clear understanding of business requirements and plan the delivery of changes.
- Leading rating-related projects and initiatives.
- Coordinating efforts with Guidewire analysts and other technology teams on cross-functional projects.
- Providing guidance and support to team members to manage the delivery of changes according to project schedules and regulatory deadlines.
- Ensuring quality and accuracy through automated and manual testing and validating test results.
- Documenting business requirements, decisions, issues, test plans, and test results thoroughly
- Identifying risks and implementing appropriate solutions and mitigation strategies.
- Responding to ad hoc inquiries and investigating rating issues and questions as needed.
- Supporting internal and external audit and compliance teams as required.
Required Skills:
- Superior analytical abilities
- Excellent math skills: a degree in Mathematics or Actuarial Science is a plus
- Expertise in Excel
- Excellent communications skills
- 5-7 years of experience as a Business Analyst or in a related role
- Solid understanding of Property & Casualty (PSC) insurance products and pricing
- Experience with insurance policy management systems and/or rating engines
- Understanding of Agile methodology and previous experience working in an Agile environment.
