Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Business Development Manager to drive growth across Alberta. This individual will be responsible for securing engineering contracts, expanding market presence, and developing client relationships across sectors such as utilities, infrastructure, modular construction, and real estate development.

Key Responsibilities

• Identify and secure new business opportunities in both public and private sectors

• Build and execute targeted business growth plans

• Lead preparation and submission of RFQs, RFPs, and client proposals

• Coordinate with internal engineering teams to align proposals with service capabilities

• Develop and execute lead generation strategies, including: Social media marketing, Industry exhibitions and conferences, Targeted ads and digital outreach, Direct engagement with developers, municipalities, and stakeholders

• Track market trends and provide regular performance reporting to executive leadership

• Represent ARETAS at events, client meetings, and strategic forums

Experience Required

• Minimum 7 years of business development experience in engineering, utilities, construction, or infrastructure sectors

• Demonstrated success with medium to mega-scale projects

• Strong understanding of Alberta's development ecosystem, permitting pathways, and client landscape

Skills Required

• Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills

• Strong proposal writing and presentation development capabilities

• Familiarity with CRM tools and online tendering platforms

• Understanding of civil, structural, and electrical engineering services

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or related field

• PMP or other business/technical certifications are considered an asset

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

• Growth in annual revenue from new contracts

• Conversion rates of submitted proposals

• Expansion of client portfolio across multiple service verticals

• Enhanced brand presence through marketing and outreach
