Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and dependable CNC Lathe Machinist to join our client's manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining CNC lathe machines to produce precision metal parts in accordance with technical drawings and quality standards. The ideal candidate has a strong mechanical aptitude, excellent attention to detail, and a commitment to safety and continuous improvement.

Job Type: Full-Time (may include overtime or shift work depending on production demands)

Compensation: $35 -$40 per hour depending on experience.

Shift Structure: Monday to Friday; 7am to 3:30pm

Job Location: Stoney Creek, ON

Responsibilities:

  • Set up and operate CNC lathes to produce precision components.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and job orders.
  • Adjust machine settings, tooling, and offsets to maintain accuracy.
  • Inspect finished parts using precision measuring tools to ensure conformance to specifications.
  • Troubleshoot machining issues and make corrections to minimize downtime.
  • Perform preventive maintenance on machines and ensure cleanliness of the work area.
  • Document production activities and quality control results accurately.
  • Work collaboratively with team members and follow safety and quality standards at all times.

Skills/Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED required; technical certification or trade school preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience operating CNC lathes in a manufacturing environment.
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting technical drawings and blueprints.
  • Familiarity with G-code programming and CNC control systems (e.g., Fanuc, Haas).
  • Strong knowledge of tooling, cutting speeds, and feed rates for various materials.
  • Skilled in using precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, and gauges.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
