About Second Nature Centre
Second Nature Centre is a neuro-affirming, trauma-informed multidisciplinary support and treatment centre serving neurodivergent children, youth, and their families. We offer psychotherapy, speech therapy, occupational therapy, holistic health services, and family-centered programs - all under one roof and rooted in safety, compassion, and relationship.
Our Receptionist is the first face families see - the one who holds the space where healing begins.
The Role
We're looking for a warm, highly organized, and self-motivated Receptionist to join our on-site team in Ottawa, ON. The ideal candidate thrives in dynamic environments, has experience in a medical or mental health clinic, and brings both administrative confidence and a compassionate presence to their work. This is a full-time, in-person position.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet families, children, and visitors with warmth, calm, and professionalism
- Manage phone and email communications, booking, cancellations, and general inquiries
- Coordinate daily scheduling for multiple clinicians and therapeutic services
- Maintain and update client records, intake forms, and documentation systems
- Oversee Second Nature Centre's social media channels, including creating and posting basic content (we can train you!)
- Assist in organizing and setting up community events, workshops, and centre-based programs
- Perform daily cleaning tasks to help maintain a welcoming, organized, and sensory-considerate space
- Support clinicians and centre staff with supply management and day-to-day logistics
- Maintain confidentiality and trauma-informed communication in every interaction
What You Bring
- Experience in a medical office or mental health clinic setting is required
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and multitasking ability
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills - you know how to hold space and listen deeply
- Self-motivation, reliability, and comfort working both independently and as part of a team
- Experience or interest in managing social media platforms (Instagram/Facebook preferred)
- Ability to handle emotionally sensitive situations with grace and discretion
- Respect for neurodiversity and a willingness to learn about trauma-informed and inclusive practices
- Tech-savvy with comfort using email, scheduling systems, and digital forms (e.g., Google Workspace, Jane App, etc.)
