Ahria Consulting is honoured to partner with St. Peter's Seminary in their search for a new Director of Finance and Operations.

About the Role

We are seeking a strategic and values-driven finance and operations leader to join St. Peter's Seminary. You're someone who leads with integrity, sees numbers as part of the mission story, and thrives in a collaborative, purpose-filled environment.

Responsibilities

  • Steward the Seminary's financial strategy and sustainability
  • Lead budgeting, compliance, audit, and reporting processes
  • Oversee operations including HR, IT, facilities, and capital projects
  • Align financial and operational systems with the Seminary's long-term mission
  • Build trusted relationships with boards, leadership, and external partners

Compensation Package

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Commerce, Accounting, or related field
  • Professional accounting designation (CPA, CGA, CMA, CGMA or equivalent)
  • Minimum 5 years of progressive leadership in finance or administration, ideally in a not-for-profit or educational setting
  • Strong knowledge of Canadian tax laws for charities and payroll complianceProficiency in ERP/Finance software (Sage 300), payroll systems (Paymate), Raiser's Edge, and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Experience in unionized environments and contract negotiationFamiliarity with not-for-profit governance, audits, and reporting standards
  • Exposure to operational functions such as HR and IT would be an asset
