Job Overview:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Design and Procurement Manager to oversee the planning, coordination, and execution of custom elevator interior projects. In this dynamic role, you will act as the central point of contact between clients, internal teams, and suppliers to ensure each project is delivered on time, on budget, and to specification. The ideal candidate will have strong project management skills, a technical mindset, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. This position is instrumental in supporting design development, production coordination, procurement, and customer communication throughout the entire project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create detailed approval drawings based on customer specifications.
  • Revise and resubmit drawings throughout the customer approval process.
  • Act as a key liaison between Account Managers, VP of Administration, and the Field Operations Manager.
  • Establish project start dates based on lead times and material availability.
  • Use QuickBooks and Salesforce to create tasks and monitor project deliverables.
  • Guide customers through the approval process, including cab finishes and follow-ups.
  • Prepare and issue product requisitions for manufacturing and order processing.
  • Contribute to new design concepts and analyze current processes for improvements.
  • Research new materials and products to enhance current standards.
  • Conduct regular reviews of suppliers to ensure cost-effectiveness and quality.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of B-44 Elevator Code as it applies to interior design.
  • Assist with procurement of specialty products as required.
  • Coordinate with suppliers to ensure materials and production schedules are on track.
  • Process urgent call-in orders from job sites for next-day production.
  • Conduct occasional site visits to support ongoing projects.
  • Offer technical solutions and alternatives aligned with project scopes.
  • Release shear lists based on approved drawings and site surveys.
  • Work closely with brake and shear operators to meet production timelines.
  • Monitor and manage material purchasing for current production needs.
  • Review and submit engineering drawings and weight calculations for TSSA (Technical Standards & Safety Authority) approval.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in project coordination, preferably in construction or manufacturing.
  • Proficiency with QuickBooks, Salesforce, and CAD or similar drawing software.
  • Strong understanding of material procurement, supplier negotiation, and production planning.
  • Familiarity with B-44 Elevator Code is highly preferred.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to multitask and manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • A valid driver's license and ability to conduct site visits as required.
