Key Responsibilities
We are looking for a Designer with fire protection knowledge and general construction background. We want a person that can fit in with our team of engineers/designers and is capable of design through CAD and/or REVIT.
You will be mainly responsible for designing automatic fire sprinkler systems and preparing drawings in accordance with the requirements of current codes. Your primary responsibilities will be to :
Prepare drawings considering architectural, structural and mechanical plans using AutoCAD and HydraCAD systems, etc.;
Reproduce and draw sketches, drawings and plans;
Arrange sprinklers on the drawings in accordance with current standards;
Participate in project meetings with project managers & other trades for project coordination;
Order material based on the coordinated drawings;
Proceed to field surveys for installation drawings;
Estimate change orders and help prepare quotes for the sales team.
Required Qualifications
Minimum of 2 to 5 years of experience in fire protection design (mandatory);
Diploma in Engineering, Engineering Technology or Design or High School diploma with equivalent relevant experience;
Proficiency in computer-assisted design with AutoCAD;
Knowledge of Revit design (an asset);
Knowledge of standards and codes governing design and installation of automatic fire protection systems;
Knowledge of HydraCAD (an asset).
