Position Overview: The People & Culture (P&C) Intern plays a vital role in supporting the HR team by managing essential human resources functions such as onboarding, attendance management, and maintaining employee records in our HRIS system (SuccessFactors). Reporting directly to the Director, People and Culture, this role will support the broader People & Culture Team in North America and be involved in key project work to support Caldic's transformational journey.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Onboarding & Employee Integration: Manage the onboarding process for new hires, ensuring a smooth transition into the organization and compliance with relevant documentation and policies. Partner with Payroll Team to ensure all employee related changes are processed and communicated appropriately.
  • Attendance Management: Track and manage employee attendance, ensuring proper documentation, adherence to attendance policies, and addressing any attendance-related issues.
  • HRIS Management: Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records in SuccessFactors, including personal information, benefits enrollment, and other HR-related data.
  • Employee Relations: Act as a first point of contact for employee inquiries& manage the People & Culture North America inbox, offering guidance on HR-related matters and escalating issues when necessary.
  • Reporting and Data Management: support P&C team with data upkeeping and maintenance in SuccessFactors and ad hoc reporting & analysis. Also responsible for updating and maintaining organizational charts and P&C trackers & dashboards.
  • Recruitment: Partner with Talent Acquisition Partner & support recruitment activities, including scheduling interviews & pre-screening candidates as required.
  • Engagement Initiatives: Take the lead on specific People & Culture projects, such as company events, employee engagement initiatives, and other HR-related initiatives.
  • General Support: Provide administrative support to the P&C Team as needed, including assisting with reporting, presentations, and other HR activities and administration of employee milestone programs (Service Awards, Recognition Programs etc.)
  • Health & Safety: Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations, GMP's and HACCP requirements

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Post - Secondary Education/HR Certification in progress.
  • Highly motivated, well organized, and committed professional with a strong attention to detail
  • Capable of effectively managing multiple responsibilities and adapting to new challenges while contributing effectively within a team setting.
  • Ability to process high volumes of paperwork.
  • Working knowledge of Employment legislation
  • Highly organized
  • Superior multi-tasking and prioritizing capability.
  • Effective time management skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
