About the Role

On behalf of our client in the Banking industry, Astek Canada is seeking a motivated Data Engineer ready to take on new challenges.

Your Responsibilities

As a Data Engineer, you will be responsible for:

• Perform data analysis using SQL, propose data quality rules.
• Self-starter who is able to explore data, write accurate SQL codes, create data lineage document.
• Ensure data is maintained in compliance with enterprise data standards, policies, and guidelines.
• Support the QA team with data analysis/investigations of complex issues/ test cases as part of SIT/UAT/PAT testing.
• Provide oversight on post implementation activities.
• Execute code check-in/ check-out into source code repository as part of source code management.
• Work closely with technology team to support code packaging & deployment into higher environments.

Your Qualifications

Education/Experience:

• Data Exploration, wrangling experience.
• Data Analytics experience.
• SQL experience.
• Data Architecture experience.

Key Skills:

• Prior experience with migrating data from one source to another.
• Back-end database management.
• Building ETL pipelines.
• Deployment of software packages.
• Developing Azure pipelines.
• Data quality rules design.
• Worked on projects where requirements were provided by the business team.
