Our client is a successful metal fabrication company with a long history of providing quality metal fabricated products are currently recruiting for a Purchasing Supervisor.

This role could be based in Guelph, Cambridge or Stratford. From time to time, you will need to work at the other facilities.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

• A minimum of 5 years of work experience in Purchasing and/or Supply Chain Management within a manufacturing setting.
• Experience directly managing junior buyers. This could include progressive discipline and termination
• Purchasing experience with a company that manufactures metal parts
• Post-secondary education in Materials Management, Purchasing, or a related discipline.
• Proficient in using various computer software, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and ERP/MRP systems.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Guide, mentor, and support the Junior MRO Buyer to achieve departmental objectives.
• Strive to meet cost reduction targets for MRO materials and services to enhance cost competitiveness, including quoting for all divisions where synergies exist.
• Conduct cost and consumption analysis, and inventory rationalization to aid spending controls and inventory production supplies, with weekly reporting.
• Prepare RFQs, analyze data, collaborate with facility leads to understand needs and expectations, negotiate with vendors, and work with plant leads to implement supply/service changes.
