z/OS System Automation Analyst

Job Summary:
We are looking for a seasoned z/OS System Automation Analyst to design, implement, and maintain automation solutions across our z/OS environments. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in IBM System Automation, NetView, and GDPS, with a strong understanding of z/OS architecture and operations. This role is critical in streamlining system operations, enhancing reliability, and reducing manual intervention through intelligent automation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement automation solutions using IBM System Automation, NetView, and GDPS to support system recovery and operational efficiency.
- Develop and maintain automation for job scheduling, resource management, and system recovery in a Parallel Sysplex Data Sharing environment.
- Lead troubleshooting and resolution of complex z/OS infrastructure issues.
- Collaborate with systems programmers, operations teams, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless integration of automation solutions.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior team members.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation for automation scripts, configurations, and procedures.
Required Experience & Skills:
- 5+ years of hands-on experience implementing and configuring z/OS System Automation in a Parallel Sysplex environment.
- Strong working knowledge of z/OS architecture, including JES2, DB2, CICS, and IMS.
- Proven experience with IBM System Automation, NetView, and GDPS tools.
- Proficiency in scripting languages such as JCL, REXX, and CLIST.
- Demonstrated ability to lead technical troubleshooting and problem resolution efforts.
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to work across cross-functional teams.
Preferred Qualifications:
- IBM certifications in System Automation or z/OS technologies.
- Experience in high-availability or disaster recovery environments.
- Familiarity with ITIL or other IT service management frameworks.
