Location: North York, ON (Hybrid - 3x/week in office)

Salary: $110,000-$130,000 base + 15% bonus

Vacation: 4 weeks

Start Date: ASAP

Industry: Automotive (B2B)

Our client, a recognized leader in the North American aftermarket auto parts space, is searching for a Director, Category Management to join their growing Product Management team. With a commitment to innovation and performance, this award-winning organization is scaling rapidly-doubling in size over the past few years and on the path to becoming a billion-dollar company.

This is a high-impact role best suited for a strategic, data-driven leader who thrives in a fast-paced B2B product environment. You'll drive category strategy from ideation to execution-working closely with engineering, marketing, and sales to translate technical excellence into marketable, revenue-generating products.

While our client is in the automotive space, they are open to candidates from any industry-CPG, retail, hard goods, etc.-as long as you've scaled a physical product category and have a passion for product excellence.

What You'll Do

  • Develop and lead category strategy to drive sales, profitability, and customer satisfaction.
  • Conduct market analysis and competitive intelligence to identify opportunities and maintain a strong competitive edge.
  • Own the full lifecycle of product categories, from selection and positioning to rationalization and retirement.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Engineering, Sales, Marketing, Finance, IT, and Customer Service to align strategy.
  • Monitor customer inventory and sales to identify growth areas and optimize product availability.
  • Create compelling product training and storytelling content for both internal teams and customers.
  • Lead go-to-market planning, including messaging, launches, and promotional campaigns.
  • Leverage data to identify trends, analyze performance, and inform strategic decisions.
  • Present category performance updates and new strategies to leadership and key stakeholders.

What You Bring

  • 10+ years in category, brand, or product management with a track record of growing B2B product categories.
  • Experience managing both private label and branded products.
  • Deep understanding of product lifecycle management, SKU rationalization, and customer inventory planning.
  • Proven success launching and scaling physical products-ideally in a competitive landscape.
  • Advanced data fluency-you're comfortable with tools like Excel, PowerPoint, Tableau or Power BI.
  • Strong analytical and storytelling skills-you can turn technical features into marketing messages that resonate.
  • Experience collaborating directly with customers to optimize product performance and solve complex problems.
  • Hands-on, proactive approach with strong business acumen and a drive for results.

Why This Role Stands Out

  • Make an Impact: This is not a siloed corporate role-you'll influence real business outcomes, fast.
  • Join a Winning Team: Work for a company recognized as one of Canada's Best Managed Companies.
  • Innovation-Friendly Culture: Low red tape, high autonomy, and a team that welcomes bold, new ideas.
  • High Visibility: Your work will be seen and appreciated by cross-functional leaders.
  • Growth Potential: With aggressive company expansion and a collaborative team, career advancement is on the table.

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • You're data-driven, strategic, and curious-always asking "what's next?"
  • You have a passion for product ownership and are eager to learn the ins and outs of the automotive aftermarket.
  • You thrive in fast-moving environments and love bringing structure and insight to complex product ecosystems.
  • You're comfortable working on 80,000+ SKU portfolios and have the tech-savviness to navigate large datasets.
  • You enjoy being in the office and collaborating in person at least 3 days a week in North York.

If you're a strategic thinker who's passionate about owning product categories and shaping go-to-market strategies in a B2B environment, this is your chance to make a measurable impact. Apply now to be part of a company where innovation, collaboration, and performance are more than buzzwords-they're the foundation of how they do business.
