Introduction

We are seeking an experienced Environmental Health Safety Coordinator to join our client - a global leader in environmental services, specializing in water, energy, and waste management. This position will be responsible for supporting, managing, and monitoring Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S) programs at a diverse site with over 300 employees. This role is 100% on-site, full-time 40 hours per week for 15 months (with the possibility of extension or becoming permanent).

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with the company's EHS framework and local regulations.
• Oversee the site's adherence to health and safety regulations.
• Monitor and ensure compliance with environmental regulations such as water intake permits, wastewater discharge, and waste disposal.
• Manage emergency services and response teams for the site and surrounding community.
• Serve as a primary point of contact for EH&S-related concerns from employees and managers.
• Identify training needs related to EH&S and coordinate necessary training to maintain compliance.
• Stay informed on updates to safety and environmental regulations and their potential impact on the facility.

Requirements

• Relevant education background with 2-3 years of experience in a similar role.
• Strong understanding of health, safety, and environmental regulations.
• Proven experience managing EH&S programs in a manufacturing, research, or warehouse environment.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to quickly adapt to changing regulations and ensure ongoing compliance.
• Effective interpersonal communication skills.
