Our Need

We are looking for a Regional Business Development Manager in the Montreal, Quebec area to develop and expand Lupin's specialty generics business relationships with assigned key accounts to increase sales and profit and achieve commercial objectives.

As a Regional Business Development Manager, you are responsible for increasing product demand of promoted products through enabling health care practitioners and executing key account plans that are designed to retain and grow Lupin's product uptake.

This includes identifying new business opportunities and establish necessary contacts and relationships with prospective key buying influences, preparing and proposing plans, and implementing strategies and proposals to grow existing markets.

Position Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain strong and long-lasting relationships with customers through regular face to face meetings and business reviews. Partner with customers to understand their business objectives;
  • Analyze accounts and purchasing organizations, sales and long term goals to create mutually beneficial business solutions to expand corporate relationship and grow the business;
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders and communicate the monthly progress against the plan to ensure achievement of business objectives and achieve exceptional customer service;
  • Increase sales through specialist enabling healthcare practitioners;
  • Delivers required promotional effort (targeted details/product and reach and frequency vs objectives, marketing programs achievements, project management, hospital formulary coverage, message delivery with key account approach etc.);
  • Plan, execute and monitor account plans to successfully win patients that drive incremental sales and contribution for the organization;
  • Responsible for the management and negotiation of trade spend budgets for the assigned accounts;
  • Increase and/or improve profitability at accounts through sales and marketing programs that are relevant to the customer's needs;
  • Responsible for creating an annual business plan for key accounts. Monitoring sales execution against the plan and adjusting the plan accordingly to exceed annual sales and profit targets;
  • Monitor sales performance of Accounts and propose changes to sales strategies and tactics, where appropriate;
  • Ensures compliance with company policies and adverse event reporting.

Education and Training:

Bachelor in Business or Health Sciences. MBA or M.Sc. are assets

Experience:

Minimum of 5 years' experience in the pharmaceutical/or related market with experience in account management.

Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:

  • Strong knowledge, experience and ability to navigate diverse Accounts organization and hospital departments with the objective of appropriately and quickly turning opportunities in business.
  • Language: Candidate must be fluent/bilingual in both French and English
  • Demonstrated business acumen to analyze, identify and propose creative solutions to the customer.
  • Strong executive presence with exceptional persuasion and negotiation skills.
  • Excellent communications skills to promote and sell ideas as well as products.
  • Proven ability of having indirect influence and leadership on people's decision making and actions.
  • Strong entrepreneurial abilities to take risks and resolve problems and issues with clients in a manner that makes economic sense for both parties.
  • Customer focused to build trust and confidence in Lupin as a business solutions provider.
  • Results oriented to persevere and achieve in a highly competitive environment.
  • High degree of professional and personal integrity.
  • Demonstrate leadership and personal management skills.
  • Knowledge of Nephrology therapeutic and retail Specialty Pharmacy areas would be a great asset.
