Smith Timber Works is a progressive Design-Build / Prefabrication / Timber Framing company based in 150 Mile House, BC. Our crew is tight, our standards are high, and our culture is grounded in craftsmanship, balance, and continuous improvement.
As we grow, we're looking for experienced, leadership-minded professionals who want to help shape the future of construction - while living and working in one of the most beautiful regions in Canada.
What You'll Do
Lead daily operations in our shop and on job sites to ensure timely, high-quality project delivery
Coordinate crews, materials, and scheduling to keep projects moving
Bridge communication between the team and management to align execution with business goals
Implement and improve systems for production, safety, and workflow
Mentor junior carpenters in both technical skill and professionalism
Uphold high standards for quality, communication, and safety on every build
What You Bring
Experience & Qualifications
5+ years in Carpentry, Prefabrication, Timberframing
Proven leadership experience (e.g., Shop Lead, Crew Manager, Foreman)
Skilled in all phases of residential and commercial construction
Familiar with shop production systems and hand/power tools
Skills & Attributes
Natural leader with strong communication and mentoring skills
Organized, proactive, and logistics-minded
Problem-solver with a positive, flexible attitude
Tech-friendly (CAD, CRM, excel/sheets basic computer skills)
Requirements
Valid BC driver's license and reliable transportation to the shop
Willingness to travel for project installations across BC and beyond
