One of our clients has tasked us with finding an SCM Business Partner - Specialist for a 1-year contract in Calgary or Edmonton. This role is critical in ensuring the successful procurement of goods, materials, construction contracts, and ancillary services while aligning with project priorities, timelines, and cost competitiveness.

Key Responsibilities:

• Act as the primary SCM point of contact for project/program/development teams, representing SCM in project meetings.
• Develop and oversee the SCM components of Project Management Plans (PMP), SCM supply plans, and contracting plans.
• Engage with cross-functional SCM teams (Category Management, Buyers, Contract Specialists, Logistics, Expediting) to ensure seamless project execution.
• Monitor SCM performance against approved plans, addressing deviations in scope, cost, schedule, or quality.
• Facilitate approvals for Contract Development Plans (CDP) & Contract Award Recommendations (CAR).
• Support value creation initiatives, stage gate reviews, and lessons learned sessions.
• Provide input into SCM progress reports and ensure alignment with business objectives.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Business, or a related field.
• 7+ years of project, commercial, or technical experience in Oil & Gas or a related industry.
• Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence without authority.
• Experience in strategic sourcing, contract negotiations, and cost modeling.
• Proficiency in supply chain methodologies (RFX, category management, total cost ownership).
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
• Familiarity with Ariba, SharePoint, or similar procurement tools is an asset.
• SCMP/CPSM certification (or enrollment) is beneficial.

Work Environment:

• Primarily office-based with occasional travel (5-10%).
• Must be able to collaborate effectively across multiple teams and regions.
