We are looking for a Senior IT Project Manager for a 6-month contract position with possible extensions in Calgary, Alberta. It will start as part-time (approximately 20 hours/week) position with a high possibility of transitioning to full-time hours. Must be legally entitled to work in Canada.

Position is 100% onsite in downtown Calgary. This is NOT a remote role.

Role Description

We are seeking a seasoned and adaptable Senior Project Manager to lead a strategic initiative aimed at improving our client's Workforce Management processes. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with strong project delivery skills, capable of aligning stakeholders and ensuring successful execution in a dynamic, collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities

Project Leadership & Delivery

  • Provide end-to-end leadership of the Workforce Management Enhancements project
  • Drive project success across scope, time, and cost parameters
  • Tailor project management methodology to suit organizational context and team needs
  • Maintain a structured, transparent approach to managing and tracking scope, budgets, and timelines
  • Ensure robust risk, issue, and decision management processes are in place

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Conduct stakeholder assessments and lead targeted engagement strategies
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships to ensure alignment and buy-in
  • Act as a liaison between technical teams and business stakeholders

Change Management & Communication

  • Develop and implement comprehensive changes, communication, and training plans
  • Prepare the organization for process and technology changes through effective transition support

Skills and Experience

  • 8+ years of Project Management experience
  • PMP or equivalent certification preferred
  • Understanding of workforce management, workforce systems, HRIS, or operational process improvement in oil and gas or related industries is a strong asset
  • Strong understanding of project governance, documentation, and stakeholder reporting
  • Change management experience.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Hard-working and willing to take on challenges as well as self-starter that takes initiative when it comes to completing all necessary tasks
  • Can deal with some ambiguity and less structure
