The Senior Business Development Manager will focus on growing the company's customer base and driving revenue through targeted business development strategies. This role will identify new market opportunities, lead high-value client negotiations, and collaborate with internal stakeholders to execute on sales plans. The ideal candidate is a seasoned sales professional with strong transportation industry knowledge and a passion for building client solutions that drive measurable impact.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute strategic sales and business development plans to meet growth targets and expand market share
  • Identify new business opportunities across existing and emerging markets
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, industry influencers, and prospective customers
  • Lead contract negotiations and manage complex sales cycles with senior-level decision makers
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (operations, finance, marketing) to deliver seamless client solutions
  • Conduct market research and competitor analysis to identify gaps and stay ahead of trends
  • Present tailored logistics solutions that address customer needs and add business value
  • Prepare detailed proposals, pricing strategies, and agreements
  • Manage a robust sales pipeline and ensure timely follow-up with leads and clients
  • Attend industry events, trade shows, and conferences to expand business network and promote the brand
  • Track and report on business development KPIs, aligning activities with corporate goals
  • Coach and mentor junior sales staff, helping build a results-oriented team culture
  • Maintain accurate CRM records of all client interactions, opportunities, and activities

Qualifications

  • Minimum 7 years of business development or sales experience in the transportation, logistics, or supply chain sector
  • Proven track record of winning new business and expanding key customer accounts
  • Deep knowledge of logistics industry trends, operations, and customer needs
  • Strong negotiation and presentation skills, with experience leading complex sales engagements
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; comfortable engaging with senior stakeholders
  • Strategic thinker with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Experience using CRM systems and managing detailed sales pipelines
  • Self-motivated, organized, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or related field is an asset
