We are looking for a detail-oriented Import Traffic Coordinator to manage and oversee the movement of international shipments. This role involves coordinating ocean freight imports, ensuring compliance with customs regulations, and working closely with carriers, suppliers, and internal teams to facilitate efficient and timely deliveries. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills, experience in import logistics, and a thorough understanding of international shipping procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and track ocean import shipments from origin to final destination.
  • Communicate with freight forwarders, customs brokers, carriers, and suppliers to ensure smooth shipment flow.
  • Prepare and review shipping documentation, including bills of lading, commercial invoices, and customs declarations.
  • Monitor and update shipment statuses, proactively addressing any delays or issues.
  • Work closely with internal teams, such as purchasing, warehouse, and sales, to align import schedules with business needs.
  • Maintain accurate records of shipments, costs, and compliance documentation.
  • Resolve discrepancies, delays, or claims related to import shipments.

Requirements:

  • 2+ years of experience in ocean import logistics or freight forwarding.
  • Experience working with freight forwarders, carriers, and customs brokers.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and logistics software.
  • Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of CTPAT, Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS), and INCOTERMS is a plus.
