Our client, a fast-growing Toronto-based tech startup building AI-powered tools for staffing and recruiting automation, is seeking a Business Development Representative to join their team. Having secured recent funding and achieved strong early traction, they're gearing up for significant growth.

This is an exciting opportunity to be one of the first members of the sales team, shaping the outbound strategy and making a meaningful impact from day one.

Responsibilities:

  • Proactively prospect new clients via cold calls, emails, and social channels
  • Qualify inbound leads and schedule meetings for the sales team
  • Engage and convert prospects during free trials
  • Collaborate closely with leadership and customer success teams
  • Implement AI-driven tools to optimize outreach and workflow
  • Manage smaller deals and contribute directly to pipeline growth
  • Consistently meet weekly booking targets

Requirements:

  • 1+ year of experience in sales, business development, or outbound prospecting
  • Confident and articulate communicator, especially by phone
  • Startup experience or comfort with ambiguity and fast-paced environments
  • Product-focused with a problem-solving mindset
  • Proactive, coachable, and eager to learn and grow
  • Based in Toronto and available to work hybrid (3 days/week in-office)
