As a Project Coordinator, you will help to provide clients the best experience, ensuring the successful construction of geothermal heating & cooling systems starting from the point of sale until the system has been successfully installed and commissioned and beyond in commercial projects across Canada and the United States. Essential Job Functions
- Establish a safety-first culture for all construction projects.
- Coordinate with contractors, the client and their representatives including site staff on scheduling, coordination and other critical items to ensure the project is completed on time and on budget.
- Respond to questions and concerns as well as ensure that all complaints from stakeholders are handled promptly and properly.
- Review specifications and other construction documents for constructability, site access and recommend changes to maximize the ultimate success of the project.
- Represent Diverso Energy and take minutes for every preconstruction and regular construction progress meeting.
- Submit weekly, monthly and quarterly construction progress reports to various stakeholders.
- Manage the project close out phase including certificate of substantial completion, receipt of as-builts, warrantees and manuals.
- With the guidance of our Chief Technical Officer, resolve unforeseen site conditions, unplanned interferences, contract discrepancies and other construction conflict problems and disputes between contractors and site staff.
- Monitor construction progress and costs, and take corrective action as required to manage both schedule and budget.
- Evaluate, approve, and process the contractors request for payment.
- Maintain and manage project documentation files.
- Perform regular site visits to observe construction work in progress.
- Provide guidance and direction as needed to the on-site construction staff.
- Use word processing, spreadsheet, database and scheduling software applications to prepare correspondence, reports, schedule and other documents related to the project.
- Uphold and promote the organization's values and philosophy to provide an exceptional client experience.
- Willing and able to travel within Ontario (access to a vehicle is important).
- Attend sales meeting toward end of sales cycle to ensure a smooth transition from sales to implementation.
- Complete all other tasks as assigned that may change from time to time.
- Reporting directly to the VP of Fulfillment or such other person(s) as Diverso Energy may designate from time to time.
Education/Experience Requirements
- Post-Secondary Education and/or College or University degree in Architectural Technology, Construction Management or Business Administration
- 1-3 years of experience in the Construction Management or related consulting practice;
- Previous work experience as a Project Administrator or Coordinator considered an asset
- Knowledge of Project Management software
Working Conditions
- Work may involve some exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors and loud noises;
- On site work environment involves some exposure to hazards or physical risk that require knowledge of and adherence to basic safety procedures and precautions;
- Work environment requires having construction safety footwear and hard hat for all site work and in certain other locations; and
