Since its inception in 1985, Woodward Meat Purveyors has evolved into a premium meat supplier to restaurants and hotels in Ontario. With the recent addition of public sales to the Woodward Meats portfolio, the company continues on its growth trajectory and is looking for a Procurement Specialist to join our team.
Reporting to our Director of Procurement, the Procurement Specialist will be responsible for the following:
- Work closely with Director, Procurement to create demand plan forecasts at various levels, including organizational, product category and SKU level and manage replenishment parameters
- Review Purchase Requisitions, identify potential suppliers, issue RFQs, and evaluate supplier quotes
- Negotiate contract price, delivery schedules, logistics, payment terms, and other conditions
- Document the supplier selection process and generate, manage, and release Purchase Orders to suppliers
- Forecasting of stock product demand, leveraging input from internal Sales, and Operations team.
- Participate and actively contribute to all facets of the purchasing related processes & meetings
- Analysis of monthly sales results and inventory levels with recommendations on optimizing sales and inventory and impact to customer forecasts.
- Evaluate and measure forecast accuracy and out of stocks and bias results against objectives/plan; and leverage results with the organization in order to drive corrective action.
Required Competencies
- Undergraduate Degree in business, supply chain, engineering, finance (or related disciplines)
- 3+ years related experience in Demand Planning and/or Supply Chain
- Detailed understanding of sourcing processes and practices
- Supplier relationship management, customer relationship management experience
- Proficient in MS Office tools-Advanced Excel Skills; forecasting or supply planning applications
- Prioritize, multitask and plan; accordingly, deliver reports and analysis on time, coming up with contingency plans when necessary
- Strong analytical skills and statistical knowledge.
- Demonstrated communication, collaboration, and project management skills.
