Job Description:

Are you an engineer with project and people management experience? Do you have stakeholder engagement experience working with utility companies? Do you thrive in a dynamic environment, delivering projects to government clients, and collaborating with others to achieve excellence? If yes, Parsons is hiring a Senior Technical Manager of Utilities for the Greater Toronto Region to lead a team overseeing large-scale projects for provincial, regional, and municipal clients.

We seek a versatile Senior Manager with:

  • Exceptional communication, analytical, and management skills
  • Experience leading teams of utilities technical staff supporting multi-million-dollar transit and road projects

You will support project execution, manage teams, and contribute to business development, all while embodying Parsons' values of delivering a better world through our commitment to people, processes, and technology.

Responsibilities:

  1. Lead multiple teams and projects, ensuring technical excellence and quality assurance
  2. Manage, coach, and motivate staff to deliver high-quality services and innovative solutions
  3. Collaborate with project teams to develop budgets, schedules, and plans
  4. Support the development of project plans, safety, and quality assurance documents
  5. Ensure projects meet or exceed established goals
  6. Oversee daily operations and technical documentation for clients
  7. Address project scope changes, delays, or cost overruns
  8. Represent the company with clients and subcontractors during project execution
  9. Participate in negotiations and public meetings
  10. Support business development and proposal efforts
  11. Stay informed on industry trends and advancements
  12. Perform other related responsibilities

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field
  • Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) registered in Ontario
  • Experience working with utility companies on transit or provincial projects
  • 15+ years of relevant technical experience, including 8+ years in leadership
  • Experience managing large teams of engineers and technical staff
  • Strong communication, mentoring, and leadership skills
  • Knowledge of provincial and municipal standards and regulations
  • Proficiency with engineering software and assessments
