At Hockey Helps the Homeless (HHTH), we leverage Canada's love for hockey to raise awareness and financial support for the homeless by partnering with local homeless support agencies. We host Pro-Am and Collegiate hockey tournaments across Canada, where players fundraise alongside hockey legends to make a direct impact in their communities. Our mission is to ensure that every Canadian has a safe place to call home and the support they need to thrive. Join us in our efforts through volunteering, sponsoring, or participating in our events to help shutout homelessness.

Role Description

Hockey Helps the Homeless (HHTH) is currently seeking a highly motivated, energetic individual(s) to serve as the organization's Operations Intern for the Fall/Winter of 2025 (September - December).

This position will report directly to the Coordinator, Hockey Operations and will be responsible for pre-event tournament planning, player support and the coordination and on-site logistics of the organization's major fundraising tournaments. In person orientation will be required. This position is hybrid, where both work from home and work at office opportunities are available.

Qualifications

  • Working towards a Post-secondary degree or diploma (Sport Management and/or Event Marketing an asset).
  • Strong communication skills (French an asset)
  • Time and project management skills essential
  • Strong organizational skills: ability to manage multiple projects with short timelines and an understanding of information systems.
  • Attention to detail (previous experience with data entry and fundraising databases an asset)
  • Proficient with all MS applications and Canva.
  • Takes actions independently or in conjunction with others, as appropriate.
  • Ability to take initiative and work independently but also collaboratively with senior staff.
  • Ability to work well in a team environment, both in office and on-site for events.
  • Access to a reliable vehicle.
  • Familiarity and passion for hockey is a plus!
  • Experience working in events and/or hockey is a plus. i.e., Referee/Timekeeping experience
